Being Stranded in Silverthorne...
So we had a eventful trip coming home from Meeker for the holidays on Sunday. What normally is a 5 hour drive back to Greeley, became a 13 hour drive home! We left at 10am on Sunday, my grandma even warned us that the snow would be bad, but how were we to know what was even to come. It wasn't just the snow that slowed us down, it was all the people coming back from the holiday weekend! With so many people, it was impossible to get anywhere.
So here we go: We made it to Vail ok.. then it only got worse. It took us an hour and half to get over Vail Pass, right after we got over it, they closed the road behind us. Then it took us 2 hours to get from Frisco to Silverthorne (which is only about 10 miles!) After we got to Silverthorne, they closed the road behind us, again. We saw a sign saying that it would take 3 1/2 hours from Silverthorne to the tunnel, again, only about a half hour normally.. Then, right when we got into Silverthorne, they closed road up I-70 the rest of the way to the tunnel! STRANDED....
Ok, so it wasn't that bad. We hung out in Silverthorne with no where to go, all the hotels booked solid. Luckily we found a Rec Center that they opened for a shelter with plenty of cots and blankets. It was a good thing we were so prepared for the drive, we had all our winter gear, blankets, plenty of food. We could have survived for a few days!
We only stayed at the shelter for about 3 hours until they told us I-70 had re-opened. Thank goodness.. After making it past Idaho Springs, the roads were completely dry! Amazing.. So leaving at 10 in the morning and getting home at about 11 at night. Those were our Thanksgiving adventures!

Someday....
So, I still haven't really figured this out yet.... I've tried to add several "cool" backgrounds but it's not working... oh well.... And it's kinda hard to put up pictures, when you don't have internet at your house! Lame. Someday.....

Ok, here we go...
So I'm just starting out with this whole blogging thing, and I already know that it is taking up too much of my time. Oh well! So this is just a start, so our page isn't "cool" yet. Scott's family got me addicted to the idea of creating a blog so that we would fit into the family, since everyone else has one. We don't have any cute pictures of kids, it's just us for now, but that's alright! Maybe later I'll actually get some pictures up on here so the page will look better....
